Hammer's Slammers etc etc++
Last update for a little, got more painted, but will drop that other shoe when the time is ripe.
This time we have everything i've painted for my Hammer's Slammers unit so far, still have a plat of blowers and combat cars as well as a dozen GZG HS on skimmers to do.
First - visors up.
as you can see I changed basing between the first and second batches. I was doing 15mmx15mm squares, and now i'm doing #10 washers.
Also changed basing material and colors somewhat. The #10 ones are a lighter uniform and armor, and use this water base wood putty elmers makes. the squares are darker and use sand for the flocking.
In these pictures I like the older (square base) uniform scheme better, but in person the #10 uniforms look better to me. Jury is still out on the flock. The elmers dried up some, so I had to reconstitute it an it became a little more smooth than it used to be.
..and Visors Down
ok so here are the auxillery troops, REMFs if you will, sans clamshell and helmet.
They will also see duty as Non HammerSlammers REMFs as well.
First we have the GZG cap troopers.
followed by FOW German bailed tank crews and a couple old RAFM guys i got in a trade.
Really like the RAFM guys for supply SGTs
next should be the rebel mini earth force marines and QRF alpha and bravo squads...and at some point my collection of 15mm zombies.

QC PLO and Various "east Germans"
What more pictures???
yea well there are at least 2 more updates after this Hammer's Slammers, Rebel mini earth force marines and QRF SCI FI alpha and bravo teams...
Here we have the low tech element to the Islamic Republic Forces.
First up Quality Castings PLO Followed by QC, Irregular and some other mfg ""modern" "soviets"" or as i like to call them East Germans. They fit well -w- the GZG IF due to the elongated helmet, and doubly so because the QC ones are the same figures as the PLO except with different heads. I got all of the "modern soviets" at one of the HGMSE con fleamarkets. when i started deflashing them i got disgusted at the mostly poor quality and set them aside a few times. They are a prime example of minimalist painting,
1. prime in uniform color - grey
2. flesh - moccasin brown and flesh
3. helmets boots and "wood" - moccasin brown
4. web gear -Basil
5. weapon metal -black.
wash with my unpatented slurry of clear accrylic floor polish, black india ink, earth brown acrylic paint, and water.
tah dah.
problem is I still have as many more to paint, mostly support weapons for the "east Germans" oh and i did paint a lot more of them than pictured here this is just a smattering for flavor. Another "funny" thing (or not) as i was sorting through the bag to figure out what i wanted to use, it became apparent that this bag of figures were the cast offs of someone else putting together a "modern soviet" force. When I was finished with them I gave them to a friend who sorted through the cast off cast offs to put together his own "modern soviet" force. Now the cast off, cast off, cast offs or 3x++ refused figures are a sorry lot and if i used casualty figures instead of Star Grunt II skull chits they would be hammered into those.
buy the ticket take the ride.

"stuff" i neglected to add to my "blog"
Yea so i've neglected to add a bunch of stuff i've painted, so here goes a shotgun approach to adding things.
First up 15mmUK greys and automons
I've made up rules for StarGrunt for the different Grey Units if you want them, just email and ask.
Grey HQ
Grey Teleportation unit
Grey Mind Control unit
Grey Head Hunters
Automons
So yea that MACRO really shows some flaws that I totally miss -w- eyeball. Oh well such is life, they are done. The Automons were painted using the strictly washes over bare metal -w- red daubs for eyes.
...as always click for a larger view.
Coming Soon Martian Metals, QRF, Rebel Minis and Quality Castings.
